Product description

The GoodWe GW4000-SDT-20 three-phase grid-tied inverter, with an output of 4 kW, from the popular SDT G2 Plus+ range, is exactly the workhorse you’re looking for. It boasts superb efficiency and clever control features that’ll help you get the most out of your solar system.

Key features: Inverter type: Three-phase grid-connected inverter (On-grid). Power output: 4 kW (with a very welcome bonus – it can generate up to 10% more power than its rated output!).
MPPT: 2 independent inputs. Smart monitoring: Offers 24-hour consumption and load monitoring thanks to the GoodWe HK3000 system.

Fully compatible with the ‘Nová zelená úsporám Light’ grant scheme - The inverter fully complies with the technical and legislative requirements of the ‘Nová zelená úsporám Light’ scheme for sub-category C.3 — Photovoltaic system with water heating. Installation companies can confidently use it as a key component of installations eligible for a grant of up to 120,000 CZK. For the PV system as a whole to be eligible for the grant, the complete installation must meet the following parameters:
- Three-phase connection and power output: The grant scheme strictly requires a three-phase connection and a minimum installed power output of 3 kWp from the PV panels. The GW4000-SDT-20 inverter reliably meets this connection requirement.
- Regulatory certification: Binding guidelines require that the installed inverter complies with the distribution system operator’s requirements and the EN 50549-1:2019 standard. The GoodWe GW4000-SDT-20 fully complies with this standard for parallel connection. - Water heating requirements: The system must provide storage heating in a water heater with a minimum capacity of 190 litres.
- Backup bivalent heating source: A bivalent heating source must be automatically connected to the system for periods when solar energy does not reach the levels required to heat the water to the set temperature.
- Protection against scalding: The installed hot-water system must include mechanical or electronic protection against scalding from hot water in the storage tank.
- Qualified installation: In accordance with the subsidy rules, the installation must be carried out exclusively by a contractor authorised under Section 10d of Act No. 406/2000 Coll., on energy management. Key parameters:
Input current of 16 A at the MPPT — guarantees full compatibility with the next generation of high-performance 400W+ solar panels.
Power output of 4,000 W with 110% overload capacity — the inverter allows a maximum AC power output of up to 4,400 W to effectively cover energy peaks.
2× independent MPP trackers — minimises losses when different parts of the roof receive varying levels of sunlight or in the event of partial shading.
Wide operating range of 180–850 V — the system starts up more quickly in the morning and extends the total generation time.
Completely fanless — cooling is provided by a robust passive heat sink, keeping noise levels consistently below 34 dB.
Built-in Type III surge protection — comprehensive protection for both the AC and DC sides without the need to immediately install costly external boxes (Type II available as an optional extra).Full PPDS P4 certification — the inverter is fully certified and tested by the EG.D testing laboratory, ensuring trouble-free inspection and approval of your PV system.
Outdoor installation thanks to IP65 rating — moisture and dust do not pose a threat to the electronics; installation is possible in a plant room or on a building façade.

Technical specifications: Max. DC input power: 6,000 W — Sufficient headroom for the desired oversizing of solar panels.
Rated AC power: 4,000 W — A stable output power value. Max. AC apparent power: 4,400 VA — The unit utilises 110% overload tolerance during short power peaks.
Inverter topology: Non-isolated (transformerless) — Enables smaller dimensions, lower weight and minimal heat loss.
Protection rating: IP65 — Robust sealing against dust and water ingress. Max. DC voltage: 1,000 V — Rated for longer strings of modules.
Max. input current per MPPT: 16 A — Fully adequate for today’s high-performance silicon panels on the market. Max. short-circuit current per MPPT: 20.0 A — Safety margin for peak array current surges.
MPPT operating range: 180–850 V — The low-voltage threshold captures the first rays of morning sunlight and makes effective use of late-afternoon light.
Number of MPPT channels: 2 — Maximum power tracking split across two asymmetrical installations on the building.
Rated output voltage: 400 V, 3L/N/PE — Phase-symmetrical distribution. Maximum efficiency: 98.2% — Operational losses account for only a fraction of the total electricity generated.
Noise level: < 34 dB — Natural airflow operates completely silently. Dimensions: 354 × 433 × 147 mm — The wall-mounted design is suitable for narrow house distribution boards.
Weight: 15 kg — Easy to mount on the supplied rail without the need for winches or hoists.
Communication and interfaces: Wi-Fi, RS485 (LAN / 4G as optional accessories) — Easy integration into the cloud.
