Product description

An insecticide containing the natural active ingredient spinosad, for use on apple trees against leaf rollers that cause worm-eaten apples. A natural insecticide containing the active ingredient spinosad, designed to protect apple trees against leaf rollers that cause worm-eaten apples. Properties: - Active ingredient: spinosad 240 g/l

How does it work? SpinTor contains the active ingredient spinosad, a natural product obtained through the fermentation activity of the bacterium Saccharopolyspora spinosa, which is commonly found in soil. As a natural product, spinosad (a mixture of two biological components – spinosyn A and spinosyn D) is characterised by exceptionally low toxicity to humans and warm-blooded animals, and is therefore environmentally friendly. SpinTor acts as a stomach and contact insecticide. It is characterised by a novel mode of action. To date, no resistance to SpinTor has been demonstrated in insect pests, nor has any cross-resistance to other active substances been observed. Pests ingest the active substance through food intake and direct contact with the product. The active substance works by affecting the activity of the insects’ neurons (which ultimately leads to neuronal hyperactivity and muscle activity). The effect becomes apparent within a few hours; this is followed by the death of the insect pests. SpinTor is effective against pests belonging to the orders Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths), Coleoptera (beetles), Diptera (flies) and Thysanoptera (thrips). SpinTor is not effective against sucking insects (aphids). For which plants and pests is it registered? - Apple tree (leaf rollers)

How should it be used? - Spray the entire plant as required, generally around the 1st and 3rd weeks of June and then again in the 1st and 3rd weeks of August (apply during caterpillar hatching)
- The interval between applications is 7–9 days - Maximum 2 applications per growing season
- Stop spraying once the plant is thoroughly wetted, or at the latest when droplets of the spray solution begin to run off the plant surface - The product must not come into contact with surrounding vegetation (for which this product is not registered)
