N-type TopCon, or Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contacts, is a technology that uses a thin layer of oxide to passivate the surfaces of solar cells. This layer reduces charge carrier recombination, thereby increasing the overall efficiency of converting solar energy into electricity compared to older panels with PERC technology. Thanks to the use of N-type silicon (TopCon), these cells offer several advantages, including lower sensitivity to degradation caused by light and better temperature coefficients, contributing to higher performance and longer lifespan.
