Each Joy-Con has its own full set of buttons and can therefore be used as a standalone controller, while also featuring an accelerometer and gyroscopic motion sensor, allowing for independent right and left motion control.
The left Joy-Con also includes a Capture button that allows players to take instant screenshots of their gameplay with one click and share them with friends via social networks. The right Joy-Con, on the other hand, contains an NFC point for interacting with amiibo figures as well as an IR motion camera capable of detecting the distance, shapes and movement of nearby objects in games specially designed for these functions. For example, this feature can determine how far the player's hand is and what shape it is forming.
Both Joy-Cons also feature an advanced HD rumble feature that will allow players to experience a far more realistic vibration response than ever before in compatible games. This effect is so detailed that players can, for example, feel the vibrations of individual ice cubes inside the glass, which the Joy-Con will simulate. Thanks to the HD rumble function, players will be able to experience a new level of realism, unattainable by sight and hearing alone!
Local multiplayer like never before
At the same time, Nintendo Switch makes it easy to stay connected with other players. Up to 8 consoles can be linked in local multiplayer. Players can put their consoles away with the help of the built-in stand, share Joy-Cons with others and enjoy multiplayer fun away from home. The console will also support online Wi-Fi multiplayer.
