The UT278A + device from the UNI-T manufacturer is a clamp tester for earthing resistors. On the principle of mutual induction, it can measure earthing resistances without disconnecting earthing conductors and without auxiliary electrodes, in earthing systems with more earthing and with one earthing. Unlike a similar instrument, the UT276A + has an extended range of ground loop resistance measurements up to 1200Ω and can also measure leakage currents through the ground loop in the range of 0.00mA to 20.0A.
The tester is designed for professional use with resistance to shocks, dust and moisture and is controlled by a microprocessor for accurate identification of ground resistance, including the function of fast filtering of interfering signals, using advanced arithmetic methods. It is designed for measuring earthing systems in power plants, power and telecommunications distribution, oil fields, computer rooms, electromechanical installations and maintenance in industrial plants, wherever electricity is used as an industrial energy source, or where it is necessary to check the earthing resistance of lightning conductors. The device measures the resistance of the ground loop from 0.01 Ω to 1200 Ω with a resolution of 0.001 Ω and leakage currents 0 to 20A, the measured values ​​are displayed on a four-digit backlit EBTN display (light data on a dark background) and at the same time the values ​​can be stored in internal memory (up to 300 groups of values). The device is powered by four 1.5V alkaline batteries.
