Description
The W5500 is an Ethernet module based on the new W5500 chip type. The W5500 chip is a wired Ethernet controller with integrated TCP / IP that allows easy Internet connection for embedded systems using the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). The W5500 is best suited for users who need a stable Internet connection, using a single chip to implement the TCP / IP Stack protocol, 10/100 Ethernet MAC and PHY. The wired TCP / IP unit supports TCP, UDP, IPv4, ICMP, ARP, IGMP and PPPoE protocols, which have been tested in many different applications. The W5500 uses a 32 kB internal buffer as data communication memory. With the W5500, users can implement the required Ethernet application using a simple socket program, instead of producing a complex Ethernet controller. It is possible to use 8 independent hardware sockets at the same time. SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) is available for easy integration with an external MCU. The W5500 SPI supports 80 MHz and a new efficient SPI protocol, so users can perform high-speed network communication. To reduce system power consumption, the W5500 provides WOL (Wake on LAN) and shutdown mode.
